My Personal Response

I think that cleaning the pollution is a great idea. The Earth is dying because of the problem with pollution and if people do not care about the Earth then pollution will make many health problems for everyone. In Korea you have to follow the rule of recycling because everyone care about making a cleaner world. I was surprised because when I first came to America, many people did not recycle and I thought that nobody cared about the pollution of their health. I hope that in the future, more people can think about the Earth and pay attention to the pollution problem so that the world can be a clean and safe place to live in.

Article Summary

In 12 years California plans to use less electricity to help the greenhouse gas become less. In Los Angeles Times Article, "Trying to reset the climate clock" Margot Roosevelt says that cars must be made to use less electricity and gas and maybe use the solar power. The governor thinks the making solar and wind factory will help clean the pollution and make more jobs for the people of California and be good to the economy because it makes more jobs available. Some people say that this is not enough and that California has to do more than making just the factories. Global warming is a big problem and the U.S has to do more to help stop the pollution, they have to think about the health of the people living in the states. Many other states are also planning the different strategies to clean up pollution and every state is trying to clean up in a different way.

Personal Response

I think many people learn the second language because they want a good job. Second language is important because for example, you can communicate better with customers. In addition, second language you can get a good chance for promotion at work in Korea so maybe it is the same in U.S. Many people learn the second language in a different way, but I think it is more effective to contact foreigners and speak more even if you are wrong.

Second Language Learner

Many people learn English as a second language because they want to communicate better at home, work, and personal life. There are many different language learners and different levels that make everyone different. Some people learn a second language faster because they are smarter, or have good strategy. Some people have good motivation and attitude to learn. In addition, the language learner can be a natural learner because they can learn faster naturally, or they have a good plan to learn faster. This is the cognitive factor of language learner. The affective factors are the people who have the good attitude and motivation to learn, but some people are so scared to learn they do not learn fast. Moreover, social people usually learn a second language. The social being meets new people and wants to communicate with more people at work or friends.
